Kerry has a Bachelor’s degree in Child & Youth Care from the University of Victoria and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Athabasca University. Kerry has over 20 years of experience working with children, youth, and families in various settings dedicated to supporting children, youth, and families.

Kerry works from an attachment-based, trauma-informed lens and believes that we grow and thrive in the context of our relationships. Kerry uses an integrative and client-centred approach to meet clients where they are at, help them understand where they have been, and help them determine what they want for their future. Kerry understands that each client’s journey is unique and therapy is a collaborative process that unfolds in a safe and supportive environment. Kerry uses a variety of therapies including: Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT, EFIT, EFFT), Narrative Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and EDMR (Eye Movement, Desensitization & Reprocessing). Kerry has completed EMDR Basic Training as well as Substance Use Disorders Certification Training.

Kerry works with clients who struggle with addiction, meeting clients where they are at. Kerry uses a strength-based approach to support clients in active addiction or who are in recovery. Kerry uses a biopsychosocial and spiritual approach to recovery that is client-centred and unique to each client. Kerry also provides support to clients who love someone who is in active addiction or in recovery.

Kerry has provided trainings for diverse staff teams with how to apply an attachment and trauma informed approach in working with children, youth, and families. Kerry is a certified Circle of Security facilitator and a certified Connect Parent facilitator. Kerry is especially passionate about supporting parents on their parenting journey.
