Our Approach

At Thrive we know that who we are in the present has been influenced by the past and will inevitably influence our future. We meet our clients where they are at and offer a place where people can begin to understand what is going on in their lives now, what has happened in the past, and what they hope for in the future. We believe that, with supportive relationships, everyone can not merely survive adversity but grow and thrive as a result. Through the therapeutic relationship, our clients meet goals, learn skills and gain insight so they will be better able to access, develop, and renew the natural relationships and supports in their lives.

Our Inspiration

At Thrive we believe that nature offers us many resources and sources of strength. Our symbol is the birch tree because it teaches us that under even tremendous stress, if we stay grounded and flexible, we learn that we can bend and not break. Across many cultures, the birch tree represents strength, new beginnings and hope.

Our Values

We have integrity in our work and our profession, bound by a code of ethics from our respective professional accreditation. As service providers, we prioritize our clients’ needs and continually develop our services to help people in Kamloops access high-quality counselling, training, and mediation. We keep our fees low and offer education and supervision to build community capacity for quality service beyond the Thrive Collective. We are also the founders and supporters of The Journey Fund, providing free therapy for parents in need.
